Twitter

Twitter is a microblogging and messaging site that allows users to post public messages or send private messages of up to 140 characters. Messages can include a link to a picture or other content. Twitter users can also post short videos to their Twitter stream using the Vine app. Twitter messages may not include threats or violence, but there are no other restrictions on the type of content that may be transmitted.

Especially with younger users, we recommend that user profile is set to private, and that teens do not accept follower requests from or communicate with people that they do not know.

Twitter does not currently have a stated age limit on its site’s Terms of Service, but its Privacy Policy states that the service is not to be used by persons under 13 years of age. There is no mechanism for preventing users under 13 from joining, but there are age gates for accounts of adult corporate brands.
