4chan

4chan is an anonymous image posting and discussion forum, organized by topic. Only content that violates U.S. laws is prohibited on 4chan. Even though 4chan’s Terms of Use state that persons under the age of 18 are prohibited from viewing content, users are not required to register, so this rule is not enforced.

Users are not permitted to register or choose a user name, real or otherwise, nor are they assigned one. Some users employ a code to identify themselves, called tripcodes or cap codes. 4chan content is organized into categories called boards. Some boards contain very offensive and graphic content.

While 4chan does not archive posts, some of the more popular posts will be aggregated at other sites, such as Reddit, chanarchive.org or Know Your Meme.
