Kik is a photo-messaging app, which allows users to send a message, picture or video to another user or group. The age limit as stated is 17, and the app claims to refrain from collecting personal information from users under 13. The age limit is not enforced, and there are no restrictions on content sent via Kik. Parents should know that some users use Kik to seek out sexting partners, and predators have been known to use the app. Especially with younger users, we recommend that users not accept (add) friends or communicate with people they do not know.  Parents who wish to deactivate a minor’s Kik account can submit a request using the form below.
