Myspace is a social network with a strong music focus. The network allows users to discover and connect with musicians and explore music through access to a massive digital music library and by interacting with other users. Users who are not into new music, or involved in the music industry themselves probably won’t get much value out of Myspace.
Myspace prohibits users under the age of 13. Users between 13 and 18 may join with parental consent.
Myspace’s permitted content policies are quite family-friendly. Prohibited content includes anything offensive, illegal, racist, hateful, sexual or violent. Content promoting or depicting any illegal activities or firearms not related to hunting are also prohibited.
Users can opt for a public profile or a restricted profile, which offers more privacy. Users experiencing abuse can either block the user or report it to Myspace, but there have been few reported cases of that happening.
